Kyoto, Japan 🇯🇵
February took us to Kyoto, Japan, where we visited the Temple of Softness. Inspired by temple gardens, torii gates, and the quiet practice of gentleness, this month invited us to explore what it means to treat ourselves with care, especially during the moments when criticism feels easier.
After January asked us to begin, February asked something different.
Can we be gentle while we are becoming?
This month’s mail was built around that question. Members received a torii gate destination art print, an omamori of softness charm sticker, scratch-to-reveal self-love practices, reflection prompts, a self-love letter, and a Self Love Potions coloring page. Each piece was designed around a simple idea:
Softness is not something we earn. It is something we practice.
One of the biggest lessons from this month was learning that gentleness is not passive. Softness is not avoiding responsibility, lowering standards, or pretending difficult things do not exist.
Softness is choosing not to abandon yourself while facing them.
Throughout February, we explored what it means to uphold softness intentionally. Not as a temporary feeling, but as a standard we return to. We practiced speaking to ourselves kindly, creating quiet moments, protecting our energy, and treating ourselves with care without needing permission first.
This month’s mail included:
⛩ A torii gate destination art print
🧿 An omamori of softness charm sticker
🎟 A scratch card with self-love practices and reflections
💌 A self-love letter
🎨 A Self Love Potions coloring page
If there is one lesson I hope members take from this month, it is this:
You do not have to earn gentleness from yourself.
You can choose it while learning.
You can choose it while struggling.
You can choose it while unfinished.
As we leave Kyoto behind and continue our journey, this is what we carry forward:
A softer inner voice.
A gentler way home.
See you at the next destination ✈️
